What are Essential oils?

They're called "essential" since they carry a plant's scent and health benefits.

Essential oils are gaining popularity around the world, but what exactly are they? In a nutshell, essential oils are plant liquid extracts used for aromatherapy and health. They are called "essential" because they contain the essence of the plant. Plant sources for essential oils include flowers, grasses, fruits, roots, trees, and leaves.

WHAT DIFFERENT WAYS CAN I APPLY ESSENTIAL OILS?

Diffusion, applying the oil topically, and using it around the house are the three primary applications for essential oils.

DIFFUSE

Diffusion is one of the most useful applications for essential oils, and one of the most common ways to use them. You will find an emblem labeled "Diffuse" on the bottle of your essential oil if it can be diffused successfully. Diffusing oils that do not have this icon is not something that we advocate doing.

It is simple to operate a diffuser. Simply fill the diffuser with water up to the suggested line, add 5-10 drops of essential oil (more or less as necessary), and then turn the diffuser on. The ultrasonic technology causes vibrations to occur at a high frequency, which in turn causes the water to become mist. When you inhale the fragrant mist, the beneficial components of the oil are instantly absorbed into your body.

TOPICAL APPLICATION

Applying essential oils to the skin is one of the most efficient ways to make use of these oils. This technique is most effective when applied to a localized region of the body that is in need of relief. After first diluting your essential oil with a carrier oil, you can then apply it to the area of the body where you want the oil to be absorbed, and the body will do so. Do not apply essential oils to areas of the body that are particularly sensitive.

Carrier oils

Always use a carrier oil when applying essential oils to your skin. Our pure essential oils can irritate the skin without a carrier oil due to their high concentration. Olive, jojoba, avocado, sweet almond, grapeseed, and fractionated coconut oils are wonderful. Carrier oils safely transmit essential oils to your skin without affecting their efficacy.

HOUSEHOLD

The third application for which we advocate using essential oils is in the home. Your essential oil will have the Household icon if it may be used for cleaning and other household tasks.  To produce unique, all-natural cleaning solutions, combine your preferred household essential oils with water, baking soda, vinegar, or borax.
